With just days left until APS students head back to school, hundreds of maintenance workers are putting the finishing touches on repairs they've made throughout the summer.

There's a crew at every APS school working on various projects, like repainting speed humps. They've been working throughout the summer on thousands of work orders placed by teachers and staff.

John Dufay with the district’s maintenance and operations department said his crews will be working until next week to make sure the schools look brand new for the staff and kids.

Their main focus is making sure the playground is safe before kids get back to school next Tuesday.
