Could Albuquerque Public Schools transgender students use whichever bathroom they want? It's a topic that will be discussed Wednesday night at the district's board meeting.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 learned some parents want their transgender kids to have the same privacy as their peers.

Right now APS defines a transgender student as "a student whose gender identity or gender expression differs from the sex they were assigned at birth." The district also notes that when a student defines themselves as transgender, they will work with the student to make them feel more comfortable at school.

Wednesday night's meeting is public and starts at 5.
