Navajo Nation police officer shot in stomach

New Mexico State Police tell KOB Eyewitness News 4 that a Navajo Nation police officer was shot in the stomach Friday night in Shiprock.

A suspect was also shot during the incident, which occured at the Chaco River Apartments II. Both persons were taken to the hospital. The conditions of the officer and the suspect are not known at this time.

State Police, FBI and Navajo Nation police are on the scene. KOB Eyewitness News will have more on this story during Saturday's newscasts.
