More than a hundred volunteers got their hands dirty to make an Albuquerque middle school look a little bit better.

It was all part of Fidelity’s “School Transformation Day” program.

The volunteers spent all day on Saturday at Ernie Pyle Middle School creating an indoor student lounge where students can study and play chess.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 talked to one volunteer who attends Ernie Pyle.

"We have the buildings, where we're going to add things onto it. We're going to fix up the AC. We're going to put AC for the kids,” said volunteer and student Jordynn Griego.

Other projects included landscaping and laying down mosaic tile artwork.
