Senator Tom Udall is calling the possible move of Santa Fe’s main post office “a disaster for downtown Santa Fe.”

That is according to KOB Eyewitness News 4’s media partners at The Santa Fe New Mexican.

Udall says the post office on Federal Place is the anchor for the historic district, but the federal service says it needs to move to save money.

The two options for the post office move are the Sanbusco Market Center or the “First State Bank” on West Alemeda.
