An Albuquerque police officer is in trouble with the law in Valencia County.

Officials with the Valencia County Sheriff's Department tell KOB Eyewitness News 4 that APD field officer Jared Foulk got into a fight with his wife on Friday evening. She called 911 to report the incident, and when deputies arrived, they found her with injuries on her wrists.

Foulk had already left for work when deputies responded to the scene.

The department is issuing Foulk a summons to appear in court on one count each of battery and assault on a household member. According to APD, Foulk is on administrative assignment pending the Valencia County and internal affairs investigations.

APD officer Tasia Martinez said Foulk was a field officer hired in November of 2010.
