Police say slick roads and a bus driver who was possibly on drugs may have led to a big crash in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The crash involved a well-known tour bus company in Albuquerque.

By the time the tour bus came to a stop Sunday afternoon, it had slammed into several vehicles on a rainy road in Las Vegas.

Witnesses say the driver, who looked like he was high, then tried to get away.

One man described him as “dazed and glazed.”

That driver is Ray Lussier of Albuquerque, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The bus is owned by Herrera School Buses and Coaches, Inc. Its headquarters is near Central and 98th.

LVMPD tells KOB Eyewitness News 4 Lussier was driving the empty tour bus, somehow lost control, crashed into a van, and caused a chain reaction.

The bus hit five vehicles before slamming into a pole.

The crash left 12 people injured.

The NBC affiliate in Vegas reports the 45-year-old admitted to police he’d smoked “spice” at some point before the crash.

The family owned business did not want to comment on the crash.

One manager said “he doesn't know anything. He's still waiting for Las Vegas to contact him," according to an employee.

Vegas police have cited Lussier with driving under the influence of drugs and driving too fast for conditions.

Investigators won’t know for sure if Lussier was on drugs until toxicology tests come in.

There’s also no mug shot of Lussier.

He wasn’t arrested because he too was hurt in the crash and was sent to the hospital instead of jail.

Online Metro court records do not show any recent traffic or criminal charges against Lussier.
