New Mexico residents woke up to a rare sight Wednesday morning: a seasonal blue moon.
A blue moon occurs when a second full moon appears in the sky in a month. But this "seasonal" blue moon marks the third of four full moons in a season, which only happens once every three years.
KOB Eyewitness News 4 viewers shared their best pictures of the rare moon Tuesday night and as it continued to be visible during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The next seasonal blue moon won't happen again until May 2016.
