3 bears caught in 12-hour span in the Foothills

ALBUQUERQUE -- New Mexico Game and Fish wardens rounded up three bears wandering in the Albuquerque Foothills from late Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

According to Game and Fish representative Rachel Hockley, the first bear was spotted around 8:30 p.m. near the Tanoan Country Club. The female bear was captured by 10:30 p.m.

Two other reports of bears came in at 7 a.m. the next morning. A small female bear was caught near Paseo and Eubank while a larger adult female was captured nearby on Montgomery and Eubank.

All three bears had not previously been tagged. They were released back into the wild.
