A man landed behind bars after stabbing his wife in San Juan County.

The woman is now recovering from the stab wounds.

Sherriff’s deputies say the victim and her husband started fighting in their home off of County Road 3000.

The woman told her husband she was leaving to Gallup.

The husband, Lawrence Salazar, reportedly grabbed a kitchen knife and held it to her throat.

Deputies also say he dragged her down the hall by her hair.

A neighbor was able to take the victim to the hospital.
