By: Jeffery Gordon,

Starting on Monday, pet owners in Bernalillo County will have some new rules to follow.

The county will start enforcing its new animal ordinance.

The new rules state that all dogs and cats must be micro-chipped.

The city will spay or neuter animals that are found running loose more than once.

Dogs kept in a yard or kennel will need to have enough room to play or jump.

It will also be illegal to transport dogs in open truck beds.
