The New Mexico Lobo Football team lost at home 21-13 to the University of Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners in its season opener.

The Lobos (0-1) led the game 13-7 going into halftime, but its offense failed to score in the second half.

Sophomore quarterback Cole Gautsche finished 4 for 12 for just 65 yards and a touchdown; however he also rushed for 118 yards.

Last year’s leading rusher, Kasey Carrier, finished with 54 yards on 20 attempts.

The Lobos will travel to El Paso next week to take on the UTEP Miners.
