ALBUQUERQUE -- On Tuesday, Albuquerque's city clerk started sending out absentee ballots for the election in October.

The clerk's office wants to remind residents who are voting by absentee ballot to make sure to sign their ballot. Unsigned ballots will not be counted.

Any person wishing to vote absentee must apply for their ballot. Applications are due to the clerk's office by Oct. 4. More information about obtaining an absentee ballot can be found on the city of Albuquerque's website.

All absentee ballots must be returned by 7 p.m. on election night, Oct. 8.
