Starting on Monday, same-sex couples in Grant County will be able to get married.

Grant County Clerk Robert Zamarripa announced last week that he could be issuing marriage licences to same-sex couples.

The decision complies with a district court judge’s ruling in a lawsuit filed by a lesbian couple.

Grant County will become the 4th New Mexico county to start issuing marriage licenses because of a judge’s order.
