Tijeras schools on shelter-in-place order for bear sighting

TIJERAS, N.M. -- A shelter-in-place order for A. Montoya Elementary and Roosevelt Middle School is now over.

Students and staff at A. Montoya Elementary and Roosevelt Middle School were ordered to stay inside due to reports of a bear spotted in the area around 10 a.m.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 is awaiting confirmation from the New Mexico Game and Fish Department that the bear was tranquilized.
