A city councilor wants to hold off on building a new traffic loop at Jefferson Middle School.

The loop is supposed to make it easier to drop off and pick up kids at the school on Girard and Lomas.

City Councilor Isaac Benton says he plans to introduce two bills at Monday’s meeting.

One bill would ask the city not to approve any change until the public gets a chance to weigh in.

A second bill calls for the creation of a task force with people from the city and APS.

The task force would look at all the district’s older schools impacted by traffic issues.
