Overnight Saturday and into Sunday there was more rain in Las Vegas and residents tell us those downpours caused the intense flooding on county roads like San Miguel County A11A.
The road connects Las Vegas to the United World College boarding school in Montezuma.
The school boards 17 and 18 year old students from around the world.
Since flooding began on Friday, students and faculty there have been stranded.
Some of those students came to take pictures of the flooding Sunday afternoon.
Alexis Mamaux is a history teacher at the school.
She escaped back to Las Vegas through a back road before new flooding overnight put even more water on this road.
"I'm not going to work tomorrow this way, that's for sure," she said. "I'm going to have to find another way in."
State Police said there's still rain coming down in Las Vegas as of Sunday night -- they can't even estimate when that road will reopen.
