Water is finally restored in the southeastern town of Jal, N.M.

More than 2,000 residents went four days without water after an old line broke on Friday night.

City Manager Curtis Schrader said the line did not break because of the weather, but because of the age of the line. He told KOB Eyewitness News 4 this happened once before and it's something they are prepared for.

On Monday, the city rationed out bottled water set aside in case of an event like this.

Just after 1 p.m., Schrader confirmed the water line was repaired and residents were receiving water.
