State police are looking for an elderly man who went missing during flood evacuations from Mogollon, N.M.

Howard Bassett, 83, was staying at the Silver Creek Inn when heavy rains hit the small town. He was evacuated on Saturday due to flash floods, but a clerk at the inn said he never returned for his things.

Bassett was seen leaving in a rust-orange colored Chevy Colorado with Arizona plates. The vehicle had a camper shell.

Search and rescue crews arrived early Tuesday to begin the ground search. They are actively searching the area of State Route 159.
