ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - A federal jury in Las Cruces has convicted an Anthony man on a cocaine trafficking charge.

Prosecutors say 40-year-old Alejandro Lopez was found guilty Wednesday after a three-day trial.

Lopez and a younger brother were arrested last November. Lopez was indicted in June and his brother pleaded guilty in the case.

Authorities say a confidential informant working under the supervision of the FBI agreed to buy one kilogram of cocaine for $22,000 from Lopez's brother in September 2012.

They say Lopez admitted to picking up the cocaine from a location near his brother's residence and then picking up his brother before driving to the park where they met the buyer.

Lopez's sentencing hearing hasn't been set yet, but prosecutors say he's facing a prison term of at least five years.
