The 65th annual Emmy Awards are in the books and a local favorite took home a big prize.

Albuquerque-based series "Breaking Bad" won the Emmy for "Best Drama," an honor that comes during the show's final episodes.

"Holy crap, man, I did not see this coming!" Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan exclaimed while accepting the award.

Gilligan thanked the cast and crew, and even gave a shout-out to the city of Albuquerque, which he's called the show's most underrated star.

Anna Gunn also won best supporting actress for her work on the series.

But in a surprise win, Jeff Daniels won "Best Actor in a Drama" for his role in "The Newsroom," beating out past winners Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad and Damian Lewis from "Homeland."

Breaking Bad's final episode airs next Sunday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. MT on AMC.
