The New Mexico Lobo football team played a thriller at University Stadium, but the end result was a 56-42 loss to the UNLV Runnin' Rebels.
New Mexico (1-3) had three players who rushed for 100 yards in the loss.
Kasey Carrier rushed for 192 yards on 25 carries, receiver Carlos Wiggins had 119 yards and quarterback Cole Gautsche added 108 yards on 18 carries.
This was the first time in school history that the Lobos had three 100-yard rushers in one game.
Wiggins also added 57 yards receiving to his total offensive output.
The Lobos raced out to an early 14-0 lead, but the cushion did not last long.
The game was tied at 35 all going into half-time and both teams combined for 749 total yards going into the break.
New Mexico was not able re-capture its offensive magic in the second half and only managed to score one touchdown the rest of the way.
Gautsche was successful running the ball, but throwing was a whole different story.
Gautsche finished the game 4 for 9 for 74 yards and one touchdown.
The Lobos will play rival New Mexico State at University Stadium next Saturday.
