UPDATE: Berrendo Water CO-OP Manager Linda Livingston tells KOB Eyewitness News 4 that the water line has been fixed as of Thursday morning.

Roswell Independent School District says the plan is to have all four school open on Friday, but they are still testing the water to make sure it is clean.

The district will notify KOB this afternoon if the schools will be in session tomorrow.

Roswell Independent School District canceled classes for four schools due to a water main break on Thursday.

According RISD spokesman Chad Cole, water utility crews reported an 8-inch water main break around 5 a.m. Crews are in the process of fixing the cracked pipe.

School was canceled for Berrendo Elementary and Middle schools, East Grand Plains Elementary School and Mountain View Middle School.

All other schools in the district remained open.

Cole said crews hope to fix the water main by the end of the day so the schools can reopen on Friday. Stick with for updates.
