Lobo football team loses heartbreaker in Laramie

The New Mexico Lobo football team lost a heartbreaker in Laramie, Wyoming.

The Lobos fell to the Wyoming Cowboys 38-31.

The Lobos were down 21-0 at one point, but managed to even the game at 24 early in the fourth quarter.

However, Wyoming quarterback Brett Smith ran in two fourth quarter touchdowns, which gave the Cowboys the lead for good.

Running back Kasey Carrier and quarterback Cole Gautsche both ran for over 100 yards for the third straight week.

Gautsche had his best passing game of the season by going 11 for 21 for 156 yard with one touchdown and one interception.

Gautsche left the game late in the fourth quarter with a leg injury.

New Mexico (2-4) will play Utah State next Saturday at University Stadium.
