A confusing Amber Alert got even more confusing Saturday.
New Mexico State Police say two more boys have been confirmed safe with their parents tonight.
That brings the total number to four boys who are no longer missing.
Five are still considered missing – Mayson Myers, Peter Adams, Evan Kogler, Oscar Ruiz and Bryce Hall – because police have not physically seen them.
The Amber Alert was issued yesterday evening.
KOB Eyewitness News 4 started getting calls from people saying the kids were already safe at home with their families, but State Police would not confirm that.
People also called in saying Scott Chandler was a danger to the kids, while others said he was not. One recent Ranch graduate stood in his support.
“I would trust him to hold me off the empire state building,” Markey Haynes said. “There's no doubt in my mind he would do anything like that...he's- when I heard that thing on the radio I was there for an hour thinking about a situation where Scott would kidnap anybody and nothing came to mind.”
Haynes says the boys often left the ranch for periods of time to go on camping trips in other parts of the state.
They would often go to the Sacramento Mountains, where Tierra Blanca Ranch owner Scott Chandler had another property.
It is unclear if the ranch was empty because the boys were on a trip, but Chandler’s mother claims it was. Haynes just hopes people see every side of the story.
“How much help this place has put into people and they don't get much out of it in return and these people are loving and kindhearted people and they want to help,” Haynes said.
