An United States Army captain, who risked his life for a wounded New Mexican, will receive the Medal of Honor after a more than four year wait.

The army recently released a 2009 video that’s shows William Swenson leading U.S. forces through an ambush in Afghanistan.

The video includes footage of Swenson caring for wounded Sergeant First Class Kenneth Westbrook.

Westbrook, of Shiprock, later died of his injuries.

Army officials blame the delay of Swenson’s award on paperwork being lost in bureaucracy.
