A Rio Grande High School student was hit by a pickup truck while walking to school on Wednesday morning.

According to the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office, 18-year-old Robert Meeks was stuck near the intersection of Coors Boulevard and Arenal Road.

Meeks suffered a concussion and cut to his head, but BCSO says he is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.

Meeks was not in the cross walk at the time of the crash, according to BCSO.
