Roswell is a good place in New Mexico to be looking for a job.  Friday, Governor Martinez announced nearly 200 new jobs in the area, and they’re not all in one place.

“They all have a few things in common.  They are growing, they are creating jobs, and they are here in Chaves County,” said Governor Susana Martinez.

Outside of Roswell, the dairy industry is growing.  The Leprino cheese plant is looking for 13 new workers.  And the dairy farms are looking for 20 people to work on a new project that will turn cow manure into cash by converting it into fuel.

“We’re going to be able to take the manure on a very quick basis. That's going to reduce the odor in the air.  So, we're going to be able to take 80 or 90 percent of the odor out of the air," said project CEO Dewey Vaughn.

The rest of the jobs are at the airport.  Dean Baldwin Painting is looking for 100 new workers and Stewart Industries is looking for 50 mechanics.

To get the job, you need to be certified, but it’s a good pay.  And if you’re not certified, they will train you.

“It's a job with overtime, that you can come in here and easily make $50-60,000 a year," said Tom Stewart of Stewart Industries.

The airport is also growing.  Friday, Stewart Industries had a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new, larger door.  That means taking on bigger jets for repairs, opening the door to millions.

“If this door brings in another ten million dollars a year to Stewart Industries, it could be upwards of 80 million dollars to the city," said Stewart.
