Only KOB Eyewitness News 4 has brand new surveillance video from inside MDC on the day a 16-year-old girl says she was abused by Bernalillo County inmates.

It's what you can't see in the video that has the girl's father most worried.

There are cameras on the girls as they take their tour, but they don't seem to show a lot.

"I think I was right there," said Tia, as she watched the surveillance tape. "Yeah, that's me."

Tia has been waiting to see the security footage from her September tour of MDC.

"The ones in the blue are all of us, but the ones in the orange are inmates," she explained.

Inside MDC, Tia moves around the inmate pod with a tour group of other teens.

Last month, Tia told KOB Eyewitness News 4 she'd been groped, hit and verbally assaulted during the tour.

Throughout the video, inmates seem to keep their distance from the ladies in blue. But Tia says the abuse happened just below the view point of a camera in the main women's pod.

She says the group was gathered just out of frame.

"I feel like they put you in that area so you can't be caught on camera for anything," said Tia.

Tia's dad Martin Ridens says the video is shocking for that very reason.

"I just wonder why they have them in areas the camera never hits," said Ridens.

He said MDC cameras should have followed the tour group.

We know it's possible for the cameras to be controlled by looking at a shot from the same camera, panning down to the same area that was out-of-frame before.

"When the inmates are in the field of view of the camera, they're going to behave," said Ridens.

Ridens said Bernalillo County has told him an investigation into what happened is complete, but that has not been confirmed for us on Friday night.

We tried to reach MDC for comment about security camera placement, and what may have been out-of-view, but our calls have not been returned.
