KOB Eyewitness News 4 was sent cell phone video showing a few parents at reggae concert in Santa Fe this week who brought their infants along with them.
The video shows three separate parents holding their babies at the Michael Franti concert at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center. The person who shot the video said it was very loud and there was a strong smell of marijuana in the building.
We showed the video to some parents and a pediatrician. They both brought up several concerns for the babies.
"You're in a smoky environment and you've got a lot of people. That would probably be my number one biggest concern," Dr. Ibuki Suga said. He said the babies are very susceptible to respiratory viruses going around, especially in such tight quarters with a lot of people and not a lot of ventilation.
"There's a lot of people drinking all the time so what if there's a fight right next to you and your baby gets hurt?" mom Gloria Alegria said.
KOB tried contacting the Santa Fe Community Convention Center to see if there is any policy on allowing children or babies into concerts. Our calls were not returned.
