Man faces vehicular homicide charge in death of father

ALBUQUERQUE -- A man accused of causing a deadly crash by failing to stop at a stop sign will appear in court on Monday.

On Oct. 2, the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department said Frank Apachee, Jr. exited I-40 at Atrisco Vista Boulevard and failed to stop at the stop sign at the end of the ramp. An SUV traveling through the intersection then collided with Apachee's truck, killing his father, Frank Apachee, Sr., and injuring four others.

According to deputies, Apachee had been drinking at the time of the crash. He faces several charges, including a count of vehicular homicide.
