ALBUQUERQUE -- A police officer injured in a shootout on Saturday is now recovering at home.
According to the Albuquerque Police Department, Daniel Morales was released from the hospital on Tuesday.
Police said the incident began Saturday afternoon when 35-year-old Christopher Chase opened fire on officers during a car chase through the North Valley.
Three APD officers and a Bernalillo County sheriff's deputy were shot during the incident.
Deputy Robin Hopkins is expected to remain hospitalized for weeks. She was shot in the leg during the pursuit.
Officer Matthew Hannum was hospitalized and later released. Officer Eric Martinez was treated at the scene after being grazed by bullet fragments.
Chase was shot and killed near 4th and Montano. Authorities are conducting an autopsy to determine if Chase shot himself or was killed by officers.
