A local gun shop is offering a deal on long guns to people in law enforcement after Saturday's attack on officers.

Calibers Store Manager Travis Simpson says every officer should be armed with a long rifle.  The problem is that the Department does not have the budget to issue them to every officer.

That has sparked Calibers to offer a particular gun to them at a discount.  They can get the gun that runs about $1,500 dollars for $1,000.

"It's taking away from our pocket, but it's also giving to them now.  So right now, it's not about what Caliber's needs.  It's about what the city of Albuquerque needs," Simpson said.

He says they will honor the deal as long as they have the guns to sell.  Simpson says they have enough for everyone at APD and BCSO to get a gun.
