Update: Facebook posts by APS teacher may lead to legal trouble

Albuquerque Public Schools alerted parents Tuesday morning of an internal probe into a teacher's use of an electronic device.

APS spokeswoman Monica Armenta said the Rio Grande High School teacher was placed on leave for inappropriately using an electronic device. The device was not APS property.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department recommended that APS alert parents that no one at the school had been affected by the action, according to Armenta.

APS would not reveal the teacher's name because the matter is being handled as an internal probe.

Last week, detectives arrested an APS custodian on a child solicitation charge. Police said Gilbert Zamora used an electronic device to communicate with an undercover detective posing as a 12-year-old girl.
