A SWAT situation created tense moments for one southwest Albuquerque neighborhood on Saturday.

Police say Anthony Sanchez stole a car, abandoned it and then barricaded himself inside his aunt’s home near Unser and Gibson.

Police say Sanchez’s aunt is pregnant and had a small child at the home.

Streets in the area were closed down to traffic.

The SWAT team was called to the scene.

Sanchez came out of the home at around 1 p.m.

He is charged with auto theft and child abuse.

Sanchez also had an outstanding felony warrant for battery on a healthcare worker.
