Authorities in El Paso, Texas tell NBC affiliate KTSM that a body found in southern New Mexico is believed to be that of a missing infant.

The body was found in the desert near the Outpost in Orogrande.  Medical examiners at the University of New Mexico will conduct an autopsy to confirm the identity of the body.

Jackson Farrey, 5 months old, and his family were reported missing last week when his father, a Fort Bliss Army soldier, failed to report to work.

According to KTSM, police found Jeffrey and Jenna Farray, along with their other infant son, Blake, in a Michigan motel. Baby Jackson was not with them.

Jeffrey was arrested on an "absent without leave" charge from Fort Bliss. Jenna remains in police custody in Michigan, according to KTSM.
