Police detain armed man after SWAT situation

SANTA FE -- Santa Fe police say an armed man barricaded in a home near the Santa Fe Country Club has been detained without injuries.

According to police, the 48-year-old man threatened to harm himself or others. A SWAT team was called out just before noon when the man barricaded himself in the area of 4600 Apache Knoll.

The man surrendered around 1 p.m. He was taken to the hospital and will undergo a mental evaluation.

No one was injured in the incident.

Jaguar Drive was closed from Paseo Del Sol West to Country Club Road for about four hours. Residents in the area were also told to stay inside during the situation.
