Arrests made in death of woman found near Pecos River

Eddy County authorities have arrested two men in the death of a Texas woman found near the Pecos River.

Juan Villegas and Carlos Najera are accused of killing 24-year-old Anna Villegas. A hunter found her body nude and bound near the river more than a week ago. She was reported missing from Seminole, Texas.

The Eddy County Sheriff's Office says Villegas' estranged husband, Juan Villegas, and his friend, Najera, kidnapped and killed her in Seminole and then dumped her body off of Highway 31 near Loving, N.M.

Both are charged with murder and awaiting extradition to Gains County in Texas.
