Two women in the Four Corners are trying to make sure all kids in San Juan County have a Christmas this year.

After struggling through some rough times of their own, they've turned around to help other families now in their shoes. Jessica Bell started the charity San Juan County Christmas Help after posting an ad on Craigslist.

"The response I got was just enormous so that's where I came up with the idea for a Facebook page not only looking for help but looking to sponsor and it’s just turned out amazing," Bell said.

With the help of her friend, Kodie Fitzgerald, the two have been working to make sure kids in need in San Juan County get the Christmas the deserve.

The charity is close to both of their hearts because at one point, they needed help bringing Christmas to their kids.

"I've had to ask for help more than once for my kids. There's no perfect parents, no perfect family. Everybody has trouble," Bell said.

They want to make sure other families don't go through the same thing, but with eight days until Christmas, the pair still needs a lot of help.

"We definitely need the donations of toys. We're looking for jackets, we're looking for clothes, shoes," Bell said.

They are also accepting cash donations.

"We will go out and shop for the gifts ourselves and then we'll take that to the families so everything is going to the kids," Fitzgerald said.
