Whether you are ready or not, Christmas is near.
Millions of people spent the last Saturday night before the holiday at the malls and in stores shopping.
Many shoppers say it gets them into the Christmas Spirit.
By now, it is a mad dash to get the perfect Christmas gift and the Acosta family is right in the middle of it all.
Reina Acosta and her mom Deborah are the captains. Leading their family store to the store—weaving through the crowd.
Before they even made it into the mall, they had to battle long lines of traffic on Interstate 40.
“It's a rush,” said Reina. “We are literally walking and talking. It's come on go go go.”
It is the last weekend until Christmas, but the Acosta’s say it is worth it.
“We've gotten our bickers, going this way or that way but it's family time social time,” Reina said.
Every family has holiday traditions and the Acosta’s went shopping Saturday because that is what they always do.
The Acostas want to keep the real spirit of Christmas alive and the spirit always circles back around to giving.
With all the in and out shopping, law enforcement wants to remind shoppers to keep their purses and shopping bags hidden in your vehicle and out of sight of thieves looking for cash.
