A secret Santa made some special deliveries in Albuquerque Tuesday night, and the families on the receiving end want to say thank you. The thing is – they don't know who to say thank you to.
The Montoya kids made off with more than they expected this Christmas – but not just extra gifts. They stumbled upon a mystery. Their doorbell rang late last night, so they looked out the window, but no one was there.
"We walked outside and there was this white trash bag and it was full of wrapping presents and said to a good boy and to a good girl," Alexis Montoya said.
Alyssa Montoya has an idea for how it happened.
"I would say either Santa or the elves," she said.
But the older kids are just in awe at the act of kindness.
"Just amazed that somebody would do that," he said.
The secret Santa walked up to their house, rang the doorbell, dropped off goodies and left. But they weren't alone – their next door neighbors got the same surprise.
The card "Santa" wrote for that family said he or she knew the family might need a little extra help this season, and mom Celeste Wells just wants to say thank you.
"It kind of brought back the miracle of Christmas and what it's about," Wells said.
The kids are just giddy for the gifts and for the magic only Santa can bring.
