A man died after he was found badly injured in a busy part of Rio Rancho early Saturday morning.

Police have identified the man as 23-year old Andrew Anderson and are ruling the death a homicide.

Police do not know how Anderson ended up on NM 528 between Barbara Loop and Hilltop Plaza or what caused his injuries.

In that area around 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Rio Rancho police say they found a man with trauma-level injuries.

They do not know how Anderson got those injuries. They also do not know whether he was assaulted at that location or if it happened somewhere else and he was brought there.

Officers tried CPR and brought him to the hospital.

Anderson died there Saturday afternoon.

The one lead police do have is that there was a green four-door passenger vehicle seen in the area when the initial call came out.
