Some victims of recent burglaries in Roswell have some new hope today after police found hundreds of items inside a home.
On Friday, Roswell police were called to 330 East Ballard for a firearms charge, but what they found was so much more.
Hundreds of items, worth tens of thousands of dollars believed to have been stolen.
The items vary from weed-cutters, to baseball cards, to a staff of mysterious keys.
Roswell police said they don’t know for sure the items are stolen, but had reason enough to confiscate them.
The discovery now has some people in Roswell who got stuff stolen hoping to get it back.
Like Jason Smith, who got over $5,000 worth of goods stolen from him the day after Christmas.
“They cut our couches up, our furniture up with like a box cutter knife or something like that, destroyed that,” said Smith.
Slashed couches and an empty entertainment center are what remain of Smith’s living room.
"TV, Xbox, blu-ray player, I had a lock box that had money, a lot of important paper work," said Smith.
After the ordeal, he’s going to the viewing.
“Hopeful of finding all my stuff? Yeah. Am I going to find all the stuff that I had in my little lockbox safe? Hopefully, sure I really hope so it would be nice," said Smith.
The viewing of stolen items will take place this Wednesday and Thursday at the Roswell police department.
To view the items, you must bring a copy of your burglary or larceny report.
You can obtain a copy from the records division.
