The University of New Mexico men's basketball team is 3-0 in conference, 12-3 overall.  Several Lobo fans criticized the team for only beating last place San Jose State by 4 points and needing overtime to win at Wyoming.

Head coach Craig Neal isn't concerned.  "It's still a win, no matter how many points you win by," Neal told us on Monday.  "I think we won a lot of close games last year.  Nobody seemed to talk about point differential last year at all, but it seems to be an issue this year."

Last season the Lobos had eight wins of 5 points or less.

When asked about his perception of the team versus the fans' expectations, Neal praised the UNM fan base.  "The fans in this town are always going to have a perception of this team other than the coaches, that's why they're the greatest fans in the country."

UNM will host UNLV on Wednesday.

"It's still a win, no matter how many points you win by," said Craig Neal
