City of Belen lowers man's water bill after KOB story

City leaders in Belen admitted that city staff made a mistake when they insisted that a homeowner pay a 33,500-gallon water bill.

John Bodeheimer contacted 4 On Your Side last week after he received a letter from City Manager Lucy Baca claiming he must've had a leak at his home.

In December, Bodenheimer received a bill for more than $3,000 claiming he used roughly 730,000 gallons of water in November. 

Wednesday afternoon, City Manager Lucy Baca met with Bodenheimer to explain that the city improperly billed him.
