A paper trail led police to a suspected carjacker.

Mark Padilla faced a judge Saturday on multiple charges including armed robbery.

Court records state Padilla took a woman’s car at knife-point last week.

Police say he struck again two days later at the Walgreens on Montgomery and Juan Tabo.

Padilla abandoned the stolen vehicle after using it in the second robbery.

The owner of the vehicle was then called by police, and after searching the car she found court documents that belonged to Padilla.

Padilla was identified by the victims.
