A Valencia County woman tells KOB Eyewitness News 4 that she tried preventing a drunk driving crash that killed a man and injured his 11-year-old daughter.

Danny Sanchez died Saturday afternoon in that crash and his daughter, Megan, suffered massive leg injuries.

Jacob Williams is accused of being that drunk driver and is now charged with vehicular homicide.

Christy Sisneros saw Williams in a dispute with her neighbor moments before the crash.  She pulled out her cell phone and started recording the interaction.

Sisneros also called 911 twice to try to get deputies to break up the fight. But the deputies never showed.

Moments later, Williams drove off and slammed head on into Danny and Megan Sanchez.

"Do you think that tragedy could have been prevented had law enforcement responded to your calls?" KOB reporter Chris Ramirez asked.

"Most definitely. They could have got him here before he left anywhere. I gave them enough information," Sisneros said.

A Valencia County Sheriff's Office spokesperson said only five deputies were working the day of the crash and they were tied up with other felony crimes and another fatal crash.

An account has been set up to help pay for funeral costs for Danny Sanchez and the cost of recovery for Megan.  Donations can be to the State Employees' Credit Union under the account name "Donations for the Sanchez Family."
