2 arrested in ambulance theft

An Albuquerque ambulance worker became a victim of a carjacking, according to authorities.

The employee was catching sleep in the back of the ambulance when a man and a woman got in and took off around 3 p.m.

The vehicle was parked outside of Lovelace Medical Center.

The employee was able to jump out when the ambulance slowed at an intersection.

Officers were able to stop the ambulance on Interstate 40 near Tramway.

The suspects have been identified as 41-year-old Mike Neal Schildt and 38-year-old Alisa Quam.

Both suspects were arrested and face several charges including kidnapping.
