Valencia County deputies have captured the second suspect wanted in connection to a police chase crash that seriously injured a Corrales officer.

Deputies spotted the suspect, Aaron Wozniak, in a stolen vehicle on Monday and chased him through the South Valley. He was arrested after he tried to flee on foot near Lake View Drive.

Wozniak was taken to UNM Hospital for complaints, but a Valencia County official said he will be booked once released on five outstanding warrants.

Wozniak is accused of fleeing the scene of a crash with a Corrales officer. The Valencia County Sheriff's Department said Wozniak was a passenger in the stolen car that officer Jeremy Romero chased through Corrales on Jan. 21.

After hitting speeds over 100 mph, the suspected driver, Casey Williams, crashed into a wall while Romero's patrol car flipped over near Corrales Road. Authorities said Williams and Wozniak fled from the crash into the Bosque.

Romero broke his back in the crash and is recovering at a rehabilitation hospital in Denver.

Corrales police arrested Williams a week after the crash. She has been indicted on five felony counts, including leaving the scene of a crash and aggravated fleeing.
