The University of New Mexico women's basketball team lost to Utah State, 69-66, in the first round of the Mountain West Conference Tournament in Las Vegas on Monday.

The Lobos led 48-44 at halftime.  Their 48 points in the first 20 minutes was a season-high.  UNM only scored 18 points the entire second half.  UNM had four players in double figures, led by Deeva Vaughn's 17 points.  Khadijah shumpert and Antiesha Brown each added 13 points and Sara Halasz finished with 12.

UNM shot a dismal 22% from the field in the second half.  "We're just not a good shooting team," said head coach Yvonne Sanchez.

UNM wraps up the season with an 11-and-19 record.
